Ricardo Deben

Executive Vice President & Managing Director

As Executive Vice President and Managing Director, Debén is responsible for supervising commercial, content-related and promotional activities for the division’s portfolio, which includes six brands in Latin America and the US Hispanic market: AMC, El Gourmet, Film & Arts, Europa Europa, SundanceTV and Más Chic.

Debén joined Chellomedia in 2007, prior to the company’s acquisition by AMC Networks. During this time, he played a key role in landmark deals that defined the history of Chellomedia, among them the joint venture with Dremia that strengthened the company’s leadership in Portugal and the Portuguese-speaking regions of Africa, and the acquisition of TEUVE, its main competitor, which resulted in the consolidation of what today remains the largest conglomerate of specialty networks in the Iberian market. A turning point in his career was AMC Networks’ acquisition, which marked the beginning of the group’s global expansion.

Since his involvement in the Latin America executive team for AMCNI, Debén has been instrumental in the division’s successful management, which has resulted in double digit ratings growth across its portfolio in 2018.

Before joining Chellomedia, Debén was part of the executive teams at GE, Paramount HEI and Whirlpool, where he was responsible for financial management, new business, mergers and acquisitions.

Debén graduated with honors in International Business Administration from Ulster University in Northern Ireland and is accredited by the Advanced Management Program at Spain’s IESE Business School.

Hector Costa

Senior Vice President Advertising Sales

Hector brings to AMC over 20-years of experience in the industry and oversees all ad sales activities for the AMCNI – Latin America channels, including AMC, Sundance Channel, El Gourmet, MasChic, Film&Arts and Europa Europa.

Before joining the AMC Networks International – Latin America team, Hector served as SVP of Advertising Sales for Fox International Channels Latin America and as SVP and Managing Director of .Fox Networks. As head of Ad Sales, he managed more than 22 cable channels. At Fox, a company he joined in 1998, he grew advertising revenues exponentially and opened regional offices throughout Latin America.

Hector received his Masters of Business Administration from Nova Southeastern University in Florida and his Bachelors of Marketing and International Business at Florida Atlantic University.

Alejandro Kember


Kember supervise all distribution initiatives related to AMCNI Latin America’s network portfolio, which includes AMC, SundanceTV, El Gourmet, Más Chic, Film & Arts and Europa Europa. He is also be responsible for the company’s affiliate relations across the region.

He has been with the organization since 2005 and prior to this role, was Vice President for Affiliate Sales and Distribution for the Andean Region and the Southern Cone at Chello Media before the company¹s acquisition by AMCNI. He also served as Manager of Southern Cone Sales and Distribution at Pramer, where he got his start as a sales executive for Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay and Central America.

Mandi Ciriza

Director of In-House Production Channels

Mandi joined Spain’s Chello Multicanal, now AMC Networks International - Iberia, in 2006, bringing with her more than 20 years of professional experience in administration, creation and content management. She serves as the in-house production channels director for Canal Cocina, Canal Decasa, Canal Panda and Sol Música in Spain, and as lifestyles channels director for AMC Networks International - Latin America, featuring elgourmet, MasChic and Cosmopolitan TV.

A journalist with extensive experience, Mandi has been linked to the world of television for most of her career. She directed entertainment programs for Antena 3 and TVE, including “Lo que necesitas es amor,” Spain’s first reality show, which received a TP de Oro, one of the biggest awards in Spanish television. She also managed national and international production program departments at Pearson Television and Filmax.

Mandi has won numerous accolades for her work, among them the International EVA Award recognizing women leaders in the area of cuisine, sponsored by the Government of Navarra and promoted by Spain’s Asociación de Mujeres Empresarias y Directivas. She holds a degree in journalism at Universidad Complutense de Madrid.

Pablo Corona


Pablo is responsible for the supervision of acquisitions of all movies and series for the Latin America portfolio. Prior to joining AMC, Corona served as Director of Content Acquisition for Netflix Latin America, where he was in charge of leading negotiations with major studios, distributors, producers and broadcasters for the Latin American digital market.

He was also part of Turner Broadcaster System Latin America from 2000 to 2013 serving as Senior Director of Programming for TNT and WB TV. Since further developed the programming strategy, he created a centralized S&P (Standard & Proofs) for all signals TBSLA department and directed the launch of WB TV HD pan-regionally.

He began his career in Mexico Sugar Group as Director of International Market, while he received an MBA from the University of South Carolina and a Bachelor degree in Industrial Engineering from the Universidad Panamericana.

Luisa Valor-Casali

Vice President of Marketing

Luisa joined AMC in 2015 with more than 20 years of experience in the Latin American entertainment and mass consumer market.
Before joining the company, she was Vice President for Marketing at Discovery Networks Latin America / US Hispanic, where she led marketing, communications, planning and digital media initiatives. Prior to that, she was part of the Mass Consumer Product Division at Disney, where she directed the marketing department at the company’s regional Venezuela office as well as at its Burbank and Miami offices.
Luisa began her career as a brand manager at Nabisco Inc. She earned an MBA at the University of Miami and is an active member of the National Association of Professional Women.

Rodolfo García Cosin

Chief Technology Officer

Rodolfo joined the management team of AMC Networks International - Iberia in 2010 after the acquisition of Teuve, where he oversaw broadcasting, information systems and technology. He is a member of the company’s steering committee and as CTO supervises the Barcelona technical facility that broadcasts AMC Networks International’s 17 channels in Spain.

Rodolfo led the technical integration of Chello Multicanal (now AMC Networks International - Iberia and Teuve in record time and expanded operations from seven to 15 channels. He leads business process optimization and the drive towards HD with responsibility for nine HD launches in the last two years.

As CTO at Teuve, Rodolfo designed the Barcelona broadcast center and managed the migration from a tape-based playout towards a 100% tapeless operation. He also designed the first VOD content preparation center in Spain. Prior to this position, he held different management responsibilities related to product development and TV and new media projects.
Rodolfo began his career as a consultant for telecom and cable companies. He has more than 15 years of experience in the Pay TV industry. His educational background includes a bachelor’s in telecommunications engineering from UPC Barcelona and a certificate from the management development program at IESE Business School.

Daniel Whyte

Head of Legal

In this position, Daniel will be responsible for strengthening the planning and implementation of legal strategies, in addition to offering advice on various company projects including mergers and acquisitions.

Prior to joining AMCNI - Latin America, Daniel served as Senior Director of Business and Legal Affairs at Claro video, Inc, a subsidiary of América Móvil, in Miami where he advised negotiated licensing agreements for film and television content, type (e.g. BVOD, SVOD, TVOD, EST / EHVL and / or live-streaming), technology agreements (VOD/OTT platform), employment matters, and more. He also led the anti-piracy alliance of Pay TV through meetings with film studios and other forums.

Before Claro video, Daniel worked in the Corporate and Financial practice at Hughes Hubbard & Reed, LLP in Miami, where he supported several projects with an emphasis on Brazil and Latin America. He also collaborated previously worked as a Latin American corporate transactions associate with Hogan Lovells, a world-wide law firm with offices in Miami.

Daniel holds a Juris Doctor, magna cum laude / Order of the Coif, from the University of Miami School of Law (2009) and recently obtained Certificates in Disruptive Innovation (2016) and Negotiation (2017) from Harvard University. His native language is Portuguese and he manages Spanish and English fluently.

John. P. Huff

Group Finance Director

As Group Finance Director, Huff is responsible for all Finance and Accounting operation across AMCNI Latin America.

Until December 2018, Huff was Finance Director overseeing the Miami operation, a role he held since 2016, when he first joined the company. From the beginning, he has been instrumental in securing the financial wellbeing of this division as well as its subsequent growth. His work has also contributed to unifying processes within the region which have served as an example for other AMCNI finance departments.

With more than 20 years of experience prior to joining AMC, Huff worked for Anixter Inc., as Finance Director for the Caribbean and Latin America from 2012 to 2016. He worked also for John Crane an Oil & Energy company from 2005 to 2012 as Director of FP&A Latin America and Senior Financial Analyst.

His educational background includes a bachelor’s in Finance and Administration from Universidad San Francisco de Quito and a certification in Six Sigma Black Belt by BMGi.

Elisabete Schaffler

Director of Human Resources

Elisabete joined AMC in 2015 with more than 20 years of experience in human resources in both Latin America and North America, most recently as Senior Latin America Human Resources Manager at Anixter Inc., a leading global supplier of communications and security products. Prior to that, she served as Senior Human Capital Manager at Neoris, a subsidiary of CEMEX, a global service company that provides business and IT value-added consulting with operations in the US, Latin America and Europe; and Latin America HR Manager for McAfee Inc., now part of Intel Security.

Elisabete has post-graduation degrees in marketing administration from Fundação Armando Álvares Penteado and BA in psychology from Universidade Paulista in São Paulo, Brazil.
