AMC Returns to Latin America’s Top Ten with Season Two of “Fear the Walking Dead”

Miami, June 5, 2016. AMC Networks International - Latin America announced audience figures for the second season of “Fear the Walking Dead” that consolidate the series’ positioning as one of the most-watched Pay TV programs in key Latin American markets.

According to data reported by Kantar IBOPE Media, average audience ratings for the first seven episodes of Season Two of the AMC original production, which aired worldwide between April 10 and May 22, ranked the network among the top 5 entertainment networks in Argentina and in the top 10 for all Pay TV networks in that market among adults aged 18-49. Season Two ratings were 45% higher than for Season One which aired last year*.

Season Two of “Fear the Walking Dead” also received a positive reception among main target audiences in other markets in the region, including Chile and Peru, where audience ratings positioned AMC among the Top 10 entertainment networks in both countries#. Audience figures experienced significant increases in response to certain episodes in Brazil, Colombia and Central America as well.

“Fear the Walking Dead” takes viewers back to the first weeks of the zombie apocalypse, a time when the world is changing rapidly for unknown reasons and the characters’ lives are being transformed in unexpected ways. Filmed in Baja California, Mexico, the second season of the series stars Kim Dickens as Madison, Cliff Curtis as Travis, Frank Dillane as Nick, Alycia Debnam-Carey as Alicia, Ruben Blades as Daniel, Mercedes Mason as Ofelia, Lorenzo James Henrie as Chris, and Colman Domingo as Strand.

The second half of Season Two of “Fear de Walking Dead,” featuring eight new episodes, will air on AMC around the world starting Sunday, August 21.
