AMC COMES TO CLARO TV

New York, NY – August 15, 2016 – AMC Networks International – Latin America today announced the launch of its flagship channel, AMC, on Claro Chile’s cable service. As a result, subscribers of Claro, one of the country’s top Pay TV operators, will enjoy 24-hour access to premieres such as the second season of Fear the Walking Dead as well as acclaimed original productions, movies and AMC series.

“This deal not only enables Claro to offer its subscribers top AMC content, but also allows us to consolidate our market presence and continue to grow our audience in one of Latin America’s most important markets,” explained Gustavo López, Vice President for Distribution at AMC Networks International - Latin America.”

In recent years, AMC has gained a reputation in the United States for original series such as The Walking Dead, Mad Men and Breaking Bad. Since its launch in Latin America in late 2014, the network has captivated audiences with exclusive series, including The Night Manager, Humans, Into the Badlands, Halt & Catch Fire and Fear the Walking Dead. AMC also offers viewers award-winning movies and box-office hits from the world’s top studios, including MGM, Paramount and Sony.

“We are very pleased to be able to offer AMC content to our more than 400,000 cable and satellite subscribers,” said Mariano Orihuela, Claro Chile’s local director. “By the end of the month, our customers will be able to watch Fear the Walking Dead, the remake of the hit British production Mad Dog, and other top content.”

AMC will be available on Claro TV’s basic cable grid in August, Orihuela noted, and via satellite in HD by the end of the year.

AMC is currently included in the basic and HD services of Chile’s main Pay TV platforms.
